Dagenham!! Here come Shalamar!! "Make that move, right now baby" "Care to dance, miss?" "Ooh, Howard, you're sure singing good, today"
Tango, anyone? And tonight's keyboard player is ... Mr Howard Hewett ... er, who stole the keyboard? Old friend Junior Giscombe joined Shalamar on stage. It was Andrea's birthday so we asked this Shalamar fan to come and join us on stage.
Carolyn sang a slow intro to "A Night To Remember" Here's Jeffrey doing his thing. Remember this routine? "When you love someone it's natural, not demanding!"
"Get ready, gonna make this a night to remember." There it is! No there it is! No, wait - wrong song! Everybody say "Shalamar" !
"Goodnight. We love you." JD moonwalks off stage. What a way to exit. After the show Howard said "The crowd was great". Doesnot Carolyn remind you of Whitney Houston in this picture?
This is Shalamar's manager Tunde. Check out what he said in the messages section. Lifelong fan Femi remembers seeing Shalamar in Nigeria in 1982. New fan Taiwo said "I think they're really great ... I love you Jeffrey, call me!! Here's my number 079......" Her friend Kenoria said the same thing. "Jeffrey, please call me 020 ....."
Kenoria's mum. Little Johnny wanted Shalamar to call his mum, but dont worry she met them backstage shortly after. Gerry said that she remembered Shalamar the first time around - back in the days when they sang "The Second Time Around" Pamela described herself as "the biggest fan in the UK" and was really hoping to meet Shalamar.
Lewis had never heard of Shalamar before today. He said "brilliant, I thought it was excellent, the way they performed" Blaze said it was "well good". Shalamar signed the book of condolences which was opened following the bombings in London. Shalamar made lots of new fans ...
... and there were a few old ones too and they brought more new ones. Birthday girl Andrea came back for more. Jeffrey whispered some tips to young dancer Dickson ... ... and he wasted no time trying them out.
Pamela finally got to meet Shalamar. Taiwo got to meet Jeffrey ... ... and so did Kenoria. Wherever they go, Shalamar love hanging out with their fans who are more than just fans - but also friends. See you backstage soon!
